May the Victims, Survivors, Families, Responders and Nation find peace and solace after yet another senseless act of gun violence!

There have been 18 school shootings since Jan 1, 2018. Using basic math, this places the United States on pace to see 154 school shootings in 2018. What’s fascinating is Pro-2nd Amendment supporters are saying “there’s a serious mental health issue in this country, not a gun issue.”What’s fascinating is Pro-2nd Amendment supporters are saying “there’s a serious mental health issue in this country, not a gun issue.” I agree there is a serious mental health issue and we should start with people who use that statement or “people kill people and not guns” as baseline for mental review.

Even more fascinating is these same people will defend the flag, military and law enforcement to no end, but won’t defend the need to control the untrained, uncertified civilian’s access to military style weapons on the ground of the 2nd Amendment. Yes it’s your “Right to Bear Arms”, but it’s also a privilege to have access to certain weapons.

Parkland - American Flag at half mast

The Parkland Massacre is yet another example of how the civilian population refuses to take gun ownership seriously. If Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Guardsmen, Coast Guard, and Law Enforcement who protect the citizens of this Country must endure repeated psych exams, constant training, certification and re-certification on each weapon they have access too, why should the civilian population, for which most have never seen a day of service, not be required to do the same to own ANY gun?

It’s not an argument about your “right to bear”, but it is an argument on whether you and the occupants of a gun owner’s household deserve the privilege of access to those arms. Hell if a person who flips burgers for a living has to certify and re-certify to handle food, why in the hell should a CIVILIAN gun owner and all his/her occupants not be required to do the same?

Simple solution for gun regulation proposal by TheBrokeLab:

If you want to own a gun, any gun, I don’t care if it’s a Daisy 1938 Red Ryder Youth BB Gun you must

  1. Apply for a license
  2. List all occupants that permanently live in your home or immediate family members (Grand Parents, Parents, Children (blood or adopted)
  3. EVERYONE must submit to psychological examination
    1. The examinations will decide the families access to a certain class of weapon
    2. The lowest score in the house will determine the class(es) of weapon(s) for that household
  4. Once assigned a weapon(s) class(es)
    1. EVERYONE must certify on each weapon the gun owner intends to buy (current or in the future)
      1. An age requirement will be enforced
  5. Once the household is certified, everyone is required to periodically re-certify, which includes psychological examinations every 18 months from their last mandatory certification and for each weapons class
    1. If any member fails their rectification exam, the weapon(s) shall be seized until mandatory training and re-certification is completed
  6. Life events must be declared within 90 days of occurring (i.e. divorces, bankruptcies, job loss, new baby, marriage, etc)
  7.  Psychological and psychical exams are required every year

We recommend that all training be conducted on a military base or at a law enforcement facility under the DIRECT supervision of both law enforcement and active duty military personnel. NO EXCEPTIONS and NO OUTSOURCED CONTRACTORS ALLOWED!

All cost for running a program of this size will be covered by EVERY GUN OWNER and will never be passed to non-gun owner taxpayers!

The right to bear arms was written as a direct impact of the American Revolutionary War and not for the purposes of killing innocent people for purposes of a personal agenda!

To afford Civilians access to gun ownership without subjecting them to the same requirements for  people who are trained to handle military grade or military style weapons as part of their daily duties, only highlights the hypocrisy Pro-2nd Amendment supporters.

Again, WE ARE NOT CHALLENGING YOUR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS! It’s our Constitutional Right to bear arms, but that doesn’t mean that right shouldn’t come with REQUIREMENTS that EVERY GUN OWNER should satisfy if they want the privilege of continuous ownership!
